Preparing students for top universities and successful careers — Ages 16 to 18
We offer a traditional, academic curriculum which aims to prepare our students for top universities and successful careers beyond their academic study. As with all sections of the school, we believe that small class sizes and individual care and attention are the key to effective pastoral and academic support.
Each student is assigned a form tutor with no more than 12 students to a tutor group. Over the two years they develop a strong, supportive relationship with their students and their families.
Our students can choose from an impressive range of academic A Level courses, many of which they will have studied before at GCSE, alongside other subjects that are exclusively offered at A Level.
Sixth Form students choose four subjects to study in Year 12, and most will reduce to three by Year 13. Students are also given the opportunity to study for the Extended Project Qualification if they choose.
A key feature of our sixth form is the support our students get from the higher education and careers department. Careers staff are constantly available on a drop-in basis and are always willing to go the extra mile to help.
We offer enhancement programmes for those students with Oxbridge ambitions and for those intending to study on the most heavily oversubscribed degree courses such as Veterinary Science or Medicine.
