Where little minds begin to flourish — Ages 2 to 5
The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage sets the standards for learning, development, and care for children from birth to 5 years.
Fundamental British Values are at the heart of our curriculum. We focus on promoting the more general concepts within the Early Years Foundation Stage and understand that children's development within these areas is key to promoting the values in the long term.
We aim to give each child the best start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their full potential and achieve future success.
Each half term, EYFS staff introduce a new theme to provide inspiration for learning, whilst providing the flexibility for children to follow their own interests and ideas.
Children learn through a balance of child-initiated and adult-directed activities, with plenty of time to engage in exploration through a variety of experiences.
During the first half term, staff use ongoing assessments, observations, and conversations to develop baseline assessments, identifying each child's starting points so we can plan to ensure progress.
Phonic assessments are carried out every half term to identify children who are not making expected progress, with intervention groups implemented where necessary.
Our classroom features areas of provision including sand, water, creative, small world, construction, ICT, role play, writing, maths, and fine motor activities.
We also have an enclosed outdoor area which children access throughout the day during continuous provision.
Some 2-year-olds are eligible for 15-hour funding. Some 3-year-olds are eligible for 30-hour funding, based on whether their parents or carers both work, earn more than £569 per month, and less than £100,000 per year.
We accept childcare vouchers from all major providers. Please get in touch if you have any questions about using Childcare Vouchers or Tax-Free Childcare.
